介詞

一、年、月、季節、周用in

1 一般以day結尾的節日名稱前用介詞on

2 一般以festival結尾的節日名稱前用介詞in

3 聖誕節、新年、復活節和感恩節，指整個節日用at，指節日中的某一天用on，強調是在整個期間用during。

定冠詞

如果writer和teacher共用了一個定冠詞the ,說明這二者的身份指代的是同一個人. 如果writer和teacher共用了一個定冠詞the,表明一個是作家,一個是老師.

修飾數量

修飾可數名詞：a large number of,a great/good many,quite a few

修飾不可數名詞：a great deal of,a large amount of,quite a little

既可修飾可數,又可修飾不可數名詞：a lot of / lots of ,plenty of,a large quantity of e.g.The country has a great deal of oil,coal and natural g... a great quantity of (接可數或不可數)大量

a good deal of (接不可數名詞)許多,大量

a large amount of (接不可數名詞)大量

a little (表示肯定)一些,一點點

a lot of (接可數、不可數名詞) 大量的,許多

a number of (接可數名詞)若干,許多

wait to do sth 等待做某事

clothes 是一個沒有單數形式的複數名詞, 其前不可加a,an,數詞，但可用 some, these, those, many, few 等詞修飾。

fight

fight against 與…打架

fight with 同……作戰；與…打架

fight about /over 因為...打架

fight for sth. 爭取獲得或完成某事

way

way前面還有最高級the best來修飾，這時候必須要用that

Sure 用法

be sure of /about sth 對某事確信/有把握

be sure to do sth: 人稱/非人稱主語肯定/確定/務必

be sure of doing sth:人稱主語確信/有把握

be sure that 從句

suppose

be supposed to have done = should have done = ought to have done 表示「過去本該做某事但實際上未做」。

advise

advise doing sth (建議做某事)或advise sb to do sth (建議某人做某事)。類似情況的還有allow(允許),permit(允許),forbid(禁止)等動詞. 表示數量「大量」短語
